Mumtaz Zahra was referring to a trip earlier this week by Pakistan’s Special Representative on Afghanistan Asif Ali Khan Durrani to Tehran where he met with his Iranian counterpart Hassan Kazemi Qomi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian.
At a weekly press briefing in Islamabad, the spokeswoman said that the Iranian and Pakistani sides held detailed negotiations about developments in Afghanistan.
She also said that the trip is a sign of the Pakistani government’s commitment to have close cooperation with other neighbors of Afghanistan in promoting peace and stability there.
Asif Ali Khan Durrani held talks with Iran's top diplomat on Tuesday. The two stressed the need for further mutual cooperation to help promote peace and stability in Afghanistan, a country that shares borders with both Iran and Pakistan.
